Sansui SR-2050C vs. Pioneer PL-61 TTs

I'm a newbie and I have an opportunity to purchase either a Sansui SR-2050C or a Pioneer PL-61 turntable. Both are vintage, early 70's. Both look and sound great coming from original owners who stored them away carefully for years. The Sansui has an Azden cart while the Pioneer holds a Supex 900 Super. I'm thinking the Azden was OEM for Sansui.

Granted this is an all-things Sansui forum but how do the two compare? Cost for either one is $25.

SUpex 900 Super in anything warrants it's taking IMO......

Get both.

Pick which one you like after hearing them with both cartridges.

The antiskate on the original tonearm on the Pioneer has a plastic component that has a tendency to break. I would say that if it isn't broken now, it will probably break in the future and is not repairable. Don't know a thing about the Sansui.

Plastic ? Sansui is using solid metal :thmbsp:
 
That Pioneer looks like a nicer table. That said, I have a Sansui SR-2050C and it is a pretty good TT. The main thing I dislike about it are the foam feet they used. Over the years the feet on the left seem to have compressed more than the feet on the right so I have to shim them.
It's a shop TT so no biggie.

I would think either table would be fine with a decent cartridge.
