Hey all. New on here. Just need a little help. I’ve recently acquired a Sansui SR212. I’ve been dealing with some noise issues, which ended being transit bolt misunderstanding… now I’ve got that sorted. I’ve noticed from seeing other photos that I’m missing 3 bolts on the plynth. The TT is working fine, but just wondering if these are important? I’ll attach an image from tinterweb, not my TT, that has the 3 bolts. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

In my view, these are the "shipping screws" - just not in shipping position, but stored in additional holes, so these don't get lost. Seems llike Sansui forgot to add two more of these additional holes for storing the shipping screws for the motor, though.

They look like shipping screws,my 212 is boxed away at the moment so I cannot check.
Though have you oiled the motor?
There are two ports which should be labeled oil on the plate the oil flows through a wick encased in a flexible plastic tube,I use sewing machine oil.Now something to be aware of,you must remove the base and check that the tubes are not cracked or the oil will flow out onto the base and not reach the motor,these are 50 year old after all.
The tubes on my SR-212 were ok,though on my SR-2050 they were cracked.
Also DO NOT oil the linkages on the nylon toothed wheel,I did and it affected the auto return feature,it took a lot of effort to remove any trace of oil to get that function back.

Hey. I thought that too… maybe, but those holes don’t screw into anything and I think bolts would rattle when the TT is playing. Whatever supposed to be in there must have to be secure, maybe a nut under the chassis.
Thanks. The noise is gone and is not an issue anymore… all sorted. I have oiled it yes, and the tubes are sound. . It’s working fine, just curious as to the 3 bolts based next to the shipping bolt holes.
Noise is all gone, it was definitely the transit screws in the motor. Just missed them. I think the guy I bought it from was playing it with the screws in and probably why he sold it.
