Sansui, we barely knew ya

Well I had planned on using my AU999/TU999 as the electronics in my main system, that was until I decided to get back into vinyl. I have very little shelf space and wanted to keep my Nak BX300, and my Audio Control C101, and just couldnt do it in the space i had, so I made the decision to go in another direction (Adcom). Sad that I will never get to hear the potential of these units. The Adcoms (2-535's) sound wonderful, jury is still out onthe GTP500 though.

The shelf built into the wall is very cool. Speaking of cool, is the back open to the air because, with the two Adcoms squeezed in there the way they are, heat buildup could end up giving you some heat related issues?
 
I have/had Adcom. I’ll keep and use the Sansui for a long long time. The Adcom is good but it’s not Sansui. YMMV.

Actually Kev it isnt weird, The Sansui did not fit my needs, I needed something with a slim form factor and the Adcom was it. I have owned Adcom before and the 535's are a great sounding amp. Even if i kept the Sansui, I would need another amp as I bi-amp. Keep the Sansui and give up the TT, the EQ or the cassette. That was not a choice I wanted to make. I have had quality equipment since 1974 and I really don't need this groups approval of what I do. The post was a friendly way of saying good bye. Did I expect this type of response? Yes, I did. Well, you came to a forum for Sansui enthusiasts and announced that you are doing away with your Sansui gear. Does seem a bit odd to make such a post, especially given that you expected less than the warmest response going in. I can see how it might be interpreted by many forum members as a jab.

But in any case, good luck with your new system. BTW, I agree with the KingBubba that you might need to do something to help with heat build up...your gear is packed pretty tightly in there.

Wasn't trying to offend, but to me it seems weird that you'd post pictures of your Adcom system and tell us about it when really, I think 99.9% of people come here to look at pictures and read about Sansui's...
I work a little differently, I know what gear I want, I get it and adjust the space to fit the gear I like/want....Shall I post some pics of my McIntosh system here to show what I am talking about? No, I dont think I will, I go over to the McIntosh forum for that...
