Well have to give a shout out to my wife who coordinated getting this across the state of Wisconsin right before the holidays..... Popped up on craigslist and I couldn't believe it, had been up for a month and I was the first to contact the seller. At $400 I thought twice but it was a quick twice- had to have it!

I put some Blue 3-1 oil in the motor and it spins strong! Within .05 of 33.3 and I can't really believe this thing is still running like it is. Will probably order new idlers from Karmadon, as this will probably be a lifetime piece for me. Drilled for a Gray 108, and something tells me I will be putting my Gray on here with Golden Treasure RPX for when I can't fall asleep and want to play radio DJ.

Pictured with a ROK B12 platter for comparison -- this thing is mammoth; calls for a 1/2 inch ball bearing. Look at the size of the on-off switch! It's bigger than my thumb...

Here's the motor, Bodine -- it runs pretty hot after an hour, not much hotter than my big Ashland motor but definitely hotter. Stinks a little bit like oil when it runs for a while. Any advice on this motor? I'd strongly prefer not to fully disassemble it, opting instead to keep feeding it oil and running it for longer and longer.

Here's the idler assembly... a little complicated but I think that I understand how to adjust the pressure/speed. But that will come later once the new wheels are here. Any advice on changing the motor mounts would be highly appreciated. I see similar ones on ebay for $70 a set of 3. Mine are riveted on to the mounting plate. Really don't want to have to drill these out to replace them -- but that is off in the future for now.
It's a little noisy but I attribute that to the bad rubbers, I'm in the process of dynamatting the underside of the platter and am considering making a platter mat out of this stuff it's called mass loaded vinyl and it is barium infused vinyl apparently very heavy, I calculate it will weigh over a pound when cut to size.
Super excited about my new project, and really hoping that some of you will offer up some insights and recommendations about how to make this sing (in mono). I've gotten pretty good at fixing up ROKs but this is a whole nother animal, and less documented as well! (shout out to everyone who posted anything about L-34s or B-12s , love mine couldn't have done it without you!) Just going to take it slow....
