Sanyo TP 1000 Spinning Way To Fast

Hello everyone, I just bought a Sanyo TP 1000 for parts (mostly for the tonearm) but now would like to fix it. The issue it is having is the platter is spinning extremely fast, faster than the pitch control can adjust for. So far I have cleaned the pitch control pots, some other pots located on a circuit board, and checked the voltage plug.

I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what to check next or what could be causing it to spin so fast. Additionally, it spins faster on 33 than it does 45. Any suggestions are welcome.

Don’t know the table, but you may want to check for bad caps on the Ps :)
 
I've been doing some reading on how servo controlled direct drive turntables work on the forum. My guess is that it's not getting a feedback signal so it spins fast in order to try and get a signal. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the components on this unit reresponsible for this.

How you downloaded the service manual from Vinyl engine? It’s free to do so. I’m sure you did but have to ask :)

I wonder how it closes the speed, on the motor is there any sensors that you can see?

Something like the little BCB on the bottom right?
 
I'll try and take a better look tomorrow and upload some pictures. It has two PCBs below the motor.

I saw the there was three owners manuals but I didn't see a service manual on vinylengine.

It’s a good looking table, there are a few threads on that style of motor/drive. I’m sure with some digging a fix can be found :)
 
Sorry for the aweful lighting, it is dark in my man cave. I might try and take better pictures in the morning. These are the best pictures I could get without unsoldering a lot of things. These are all pictures of the motor electronics.

Thank you for the feedback, now that I know that I am going to desolder the wires that keep the pcb attached and inspect the rest of the components. I'll probably recap the whole board since capacitors are cheap.
 
Is it normal for there to be a lot of "unused" circuits like this? For example, the diodes that are shown on the pcb are not there.

Also I'm looking at Panasonic and Nichicon caps, are either better than other since these are for a motor and not caps like in a receiver?
 
I doubt this turntable was broken since new, so the absence of some parts is probably normal.
Thanks for all the help so far, I really appreciate it. It helps having someone else's insight. As far as repairing this turntable, it seems like uncharted territory on the forum. Hopefully the new capacitors will fix the issue.
 
By the way, by the looks of it, the diodes are not on the main PCB because they moved them to the motor PCB. I'm just guessing of course, but those three diodes soldered to the purple wire look a bit like an afterthought.

I would also check this connection (and those diodes) to see if there's some trouble here. It looks like those diodes are used to rectify the output of the feedback circuit of the motor.

This the closet thing I can find online in regard to the pcbs. Same table, but marketed under the "Otto" name. The board layouts appear to be different.

To be honest, I think someone actually has been into the unit before because some of the screws that were thread locked with glue looked and felt like they had been removed. Additionally some of the solder joints weren't clean. Finally, the caps on the main pcb were a different brand, whereas the other caps were sanyo.

Hey, Hey - did you solve the speed problem….. I have the same on my one here and try to find a solution. Was the recap successful?
