Hello everybody,
It is my very new post here and after reading a lot of very, very interesting post,I am looking now for help.I have recently enter in the posesion of a Sanyo TP 625 turntable. It looks realy good, the plastic cover must be polished and in 2 places the venneer is coming out.But I can fix this imperfections reading a lot of post in the DIY area. Now regarding my TT,I can say that the platter is spinning. The cartridge was in her place but the stylus was broken.I can not say anything about how the TT works because no stylus.According with what it is written on the front panel ,a ST 28D type of stylus is required (for an MG-28 cartrige for this type of turntable--> Google
).I buyed this stylus from an online store and arrived.I can not insert the stylus into the cartridge ,so it seems that the original cartridge was swapped during time.I don"t know now, what type of cartridge I have,in order to buy the proper type of stylus. There I need your help. You have more experience and maybe you recognize this cartridge. Also I want to know the value of this vintage TT (in performance and money of course) and a short compare with my Dual 606 with ULM 155E tonearm and Ortofon cartridge. Here some photos with the cartridge and the broken stylus with what was mounted. Thanks in advance for your help.
