Do any of our computer literate members know if a photo can be saved from a PDF file? Is there any trick to doing this or is it Mission Impossible?:scratch2:

hit the print screen button on your keyboard (print scrn)with the photo centerned in the monitor. get as much of it as you can to fill the screeen.

open paint, gimp, or whatever you use to manipulate pictures, create a new document with your desktop resolution (ie 1024x768) and then hold control (Ctrl) and press V.

This whole process is taking a snapshot of what's on your screen and putting it on the clipboard. You then paste it into a document, like your photo program. Not you can crop the picture and save it as a Jpeg.

oh, and if you have photoshop, you can open the PDF directly and save the picture as a jpeg I believe.

Yup can be done, couple of ways. But you will need a full working version of Acrobat, not just the Acrobat Reader and or a photo imaging software (ie. Photoshop).

I guess I was a little to slow. JP got to it first. That method will work just fine but will be limited to screen resolution.

Good Info! I just have the Introductory Adobe Reader and Photo Programs.

I want to save photos in a PDF format to save as .jpg or whatever. I will give a try to the first method listed. Thanks.

Actually, you can cut and paste out of a .pdf using the basic Acrobat Reader (7.0, at least). Just open the file, go click on 'Tools' on the menu bar, then 'Basic' and then 'Select'. Click and drag the mouse cursor over what you want, select 'Edit' and 'Copy' (or, press 'Ctrl-C') and then paste into you favorite image processing application (may I recommend IrfanView?) and save as .jpg

Victory!

I got it to work by downloading irfanView and using that. My Adobe program would not let me copy from the clipboard, only to it. Somehow the infanView allowed it. When I tried it made me save it as a bitmap file and not jpg but maybe because that is what format the photo was originally in (?). Anyway it worked.
