Scammer Dave at it again

OMG this guy again
I wonder how many people he has scammed already, I am sure a good number since he is still doing it.
I hope this guy gets in person for many years stealing money from the people.

Yep, that's him. Kinda hilarious that anyone would fall for a $225 SX-1280 that is somehow magically still available.

I've seen a couple of these threads recently. How did you determine this is from him?

I must admit I'm not quite sure how this is a scam. Does he not actually have the unit ? If you go to his place of residence and see the unit, pay the money and take it, that wouldn't be a scam to me, but I'm sure someone on here will enlighten us all how this scam is being operated.

If you wanna meet up he wont do it, i texted him few times while he was advertising in Wisconsin.
He loves the friends and family paypal payment so later you can't didpute it

What I am unclear on is how these get "married" to Dave. Is it the same gear and only certain make/models? If so, someone keeping the master list?

because he uses the same description, the same pictures and the same units all the time

His number listed in the reply to the ad was a SF number, should be traceable.

Google Voice numbers presumably. We've rehashed all this stuff in the previous threads, the meeting up or lack thereof, the phone number, etc.

Scammer Dave posted in SF Bay this morning. First with one number, later with another.

15872267032105393315349286324158.jpg Dave Culver is posting another Scam ad on Portland Craigslist as of today. Marantz black 2245 for $225. His scams have been going on for years.... and have been documented on Scamguard, Audiomart, Klipsch Audio Community and AK.

He is posting in Bend and Medford Oregon for the same black 2245. Last week it was the 2275. Very unfortunate that this type of activity exists.

(2) warnings have been posted on Medford CL . I recommend everyone repeatedly flag these ads as soon as they appear. Seems like CL administration would cancel Dave's ability to post ads. Very poor PR for CL to allow these scams to continue unabated for years.

With an issue like this I suspect this is where Clist lets community policing occur.

In this day and age most companies want a hands off legal approach to things.
How does Clist know and prove its a scam? Why would they wish to get involved
with it?

Its one thing if police come to them and ask for intervention. Now its not on them.

And the sale of stereo gear doesnt violate any terms and conditions.

Case and point here.....

These are 3 ads for Macbook Pro laptops in my city. These ads have been up for nearly 3 months.
I dont bother flagging and clearly Im not alone. They are also up in nearly every city here in the state.
Take a guess if they are legit?

These ads never stop. And its obvious Clist has given up trying to block these foreign scammers.
Its hard to fight the never ending barrage of scam ads. Never mind scammer Dave. Small potatoes
compared to the other never ending scams.

If it seems too good to be true... Some folks just gotta learn the hard way in life.

Just because an activity is prevalent.. does not mean it is ethical or justified. E.g. Audio ads that list every known mfg as a key word. Result... part of your life is wasted.. you search for Proac... and a Bose ad pops up.

I thankfully grew up long ago in a different world.. about a mile from center of a small rural town. From about age 6 I routinely walked to a relative's home in town. I knew Every family along the way.. and which Mom or Grandma made the best chocolate cookies. If you were thirsty, you just knocked on the door of the next house. On the way back up the hill if someone stopped to offer you a ride, it was an insult to refuse. Once inside the car.. hopefully an early '50's Mercury or Ford .. lowered with spinner hubcaps, suicide knob, converted floor shift and hanging dice.. you were asked your name. Which was usually followed by " Are you George's boy or Pete's boy ?" You answered.. and gave an update about your family. The entire community was based on Trust.
Dave, and his type, prey on the last vestiges of trust... which are so scarce in 2020. I am a realist and know the futility of eliminating con artists... but it still saddens me.
