SCORE! DUAL 1237 with M91ED/N91ED (genuine)

Ok, the 1237 is a good enough score for $13.50 and the M91ED is a nice cart... but oh the joy to discover a clean and intact original SHURE HI TRACK N91ED stylus! (chrome-red condensed text on pale yellow body)

I do believe this will be replacing my M95ED with RS-SHURE.. (my SAS was decapitated a few months ago in a freak LP-dropping accident!)

Thoughts on this stylus?:banana::music::thmbsp:

Very nice elliptical diamond stylus! .2x.7 if I'm correct. Has a very nice sound. I used to have a NOS until curious little fingers bent the cantilever back. :yikes: You're also lucky that it is in great shape. Presently I have an EVG and use it with my M91ED. Love the sound! SAS also is very popular with AK for this cart.

Take care of that stylus and enjoy the music! :yes:
 
Thanks guys. I cleaned the cart and stylus, installed it onto my SL1300 headshell, set it up, did an alignment, TF, etc. initially 1.25, bumped it up to 1.4 and it seems to be at the sweet spot. Listened to Roy Orbison sings Don Gibson, Buck Owens Eagles EP and now the Housemartins London O Hull4, all sound excellent. Much better than the SHURE-RS 5X I had on the M95ED. Since I don't think the M95ED is much better than the M91ED, the 95 is now on the Dual ready for sale. I feel blessed to have found this N91ED! I wonder if the SAS would top it? Perhaps, as my SAS for the M95 was superb.

The highs on the N91ED are very nice, the output is noticeably lower than the M95ED/5X, but the sound is much more refined and clean.

According to the manuals the 91 is higher output than the 95.The stated output of the 91 is 5.0mv and the 95 is 4.7mv.

Well, all I know is what my ears tell me. Maybe it had something to do with the stylus on ea. and the tracking forces, etc.
 
Got both M91ED and M95

The M91 wins hands down! Nice score on the whole deal:D Not familar with that Dual but for what you paid how bad can it be thru the A25s!!

I got one on a BIC 960 at a thrift. Got a cheapy needle on Ebay for it, and was pleasantly surprised by the sound , and strong output. If I can get the table working right, I may SAS it.
