Score.. Parasound SR250 and the story behind it

So last week I scored a Yamaha R-500 to be a Christmas gift for the housemates. I got it home and while testing, realized it will need some attention. The backlight is out and the right channel cuts out a lot due to a combination of what seems to be some cold solder points and the input selector being flaky. I'll get it to 100% but won't have it ready in time.

So, some looking around found me this SR250 for $60. It's in great condition, works 100% and sounds really nice. It has a sweet clean warm sound. Very musical with good soundstaging.

So this will be the gift. I will take a pic and post here when I find my phone. :P

I don't really have a place for the Yamaha yet, but it's a keeper.

I happened upon a Parasound SR250 a couple years ago at a thrift store. Works and looks great. Paid maybe $40. Don’t seem to find too much on this unit. I’m guessing this was an early mid ‘80s product. Anyone dig up a service manual?
