Scored a pair of Paradigm 3se minis today

Nice score!

My 3SE Minis were also $12 but didn't have the foam option. One of my 1st refoaming jobs. They lived on my home office system for a while and have been running as the fronts in the HT system for about 2-1/2 years now. I need to 'rescue' them though from that horrid duty ... especially since they are tucked inside the empty speaker enclosures of the console stereo that the TV sits upon ... I don't ever get to see them!

Paradigm CC-200 center and Paradigm 'Micros' as rears. I also had 2 pairs of Titans.

The Canadian theme runs deep around here - 2 pairs of Paisley Research, ESM-4's in the office at work and Energy Pro 22's on the main 2-channel system.

I picked up a 2nd pair of 3SE Mini's this week, along with a Technics 'BPC' receiver and dual-cassette deck. $25 The components have been donated to my local thrift shop ... but the Mini's I think are staying with me - these are pretty much pristine condition from the original owner and included the 'owner's manual'. Foams are ok - for now.

10 days ago I picked up a pair of Paradigm monitor 7 v.3, very nice sounding, they kicked the Vandy' 1 out of the room, no I didn't get them as cheap as you got yours, but still at a steal of a deal. Great sounding!

One of my favourite small speakers. Best deal for the money you can get. Excellent tweeters in those.

Cool Van. The foams on my finally went and I haven't had the time to refoam them. My amp is in for service as well. I hope to have everything fixed up soon. For now I am just listening to Pandora with headphone.

Great find!

I loved my 7SE's for the past year, until I blew a voicecoil on the tweeter of one somehow. The cool thing is you can buy a suitable replacement voicecoil as a fix, but it's a textile dome, so I'd have to change the VC parts on the tweeters of both speakers to keep them the same.

Fallen in love with my replacement speakers in the meantime, so I'm dragging my feet.

I had a pair of 3seMinis and loved 'em. Now have one of their descendants, Mini Monitor v3, which are also very good indeed.

Sleep, you can - I believe - order a new tweeter diaphragm with voice coil assy; at least I did for my 7se Mk II. Then discovered all I needed was a recap - doh! At least I have a spare.

Rick Cobb would have the correct foams for these with the 'flat' or 'tapered' inside edge to the roll - looneytune2001 on ebay. I've used them on my ESM 4 speakers as well.

As an update - I sold one pair of Titans and parted out the 2nd pair since the cabinets were really trashed (still have the woofers). Used one of the Titan tweeters in some Paisley Research Model .5, and refoamed those woofers. Picked up a 2nd pair of ESM-4's that I refoamed. Picked up a Energy center channel and a pair of Mirage 350's. My latest 'Canadian' acquisition prior to this set of 3SE Minis is a pair of Canadian made Rega 3 which I really like.
