Scored a Sansui g9000!

Scored a sansui g-9000 on cl a few weeks ago and was able to test it barely by jimmying the speaker wires into the speaker terminals. Everything checked out ok and sound was coming through his small test speakers he had. I bought it anyways since it was half price of what was going on ebay.

Any thoughts or diy threads on replacing speaker terminals on this unit? I seen this thread but its 6 years old and pics are no longer there.

I would love some input on what type of speaker terminal I should upgrade to with links. Thanks

thanks rob! any insight on the difficulty to replace the terminals? it looks pretty tight in there when I open the case. any boards that I need to move around?

Don't know what speaker cables you have, you could get some pin connectors (make sure the cases are non conducting) and put those on your cables. Easier and quicker than changing out the speaker terminals themselves.

I have a G9000DB with bad connectors - I have some gold plated binding post to replace them with. If it's like mine, some of the springs are broken and don't hold the wire very well if you can get it in. Pin connectors present the same challenge.

Rhodium has high conductivity and is resistant to corrosion/oxidisation - important for high power UHF and microwave electronics, but for Audio - not so much.

@Hyperion thanks for the insight. @onwardjames.. Yes it was the universe speaking.. was eyeing a sansui g9000 for over a year and saw my alert came on my phone and was lucky enough to be the first caller to pick it up.

I will stick with the gold banana plug conversion and post up pics whenever its done.

Congratulations! Looks awesome. I used Rob's fix on my G801 when the stock speaker connectors were acting up. Worked perfectly.
