Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Was hoping I could get some advice on a tube amp I am considering purchasing.
I used to own an HH Scott 222B, and sold it to someone on this forum, and kick myself for it on a somewhat regular basis. So this tube amp shows up on another forum and it's for sale. 400 dollars. Looks to be in pretty good shape, to be honest.
The person who is selling it just bought it a couple of weeks ago, he claims he has brought it into a local tech and has the receipt giving it a clean bill of health as well as a 30 day warranty. He bought it on ebay.
The guy doesn't know anything about the history of the amp, which is somewhat scary to me. The description on the completed ebay listing for this item goes as following:

H.H. Scott LK-48-B Stereomaster integrated tube amp; this 1964 amplifier contains Telefunken smooth plate 12AX7 tubes; vintage US 7189 output tubes - the same family of tubes as EL84/6bq5 output tubes and a Mullard 5AR4 tube rectifier. If I recall correctly amplifier is the same as the Scott 222-C amplifier.
It is 24 watts per channel and is in great condition; it has been well maintained.
As noted above the on/off function within the volume control failed; the volume control was maintained and the "compensation" switch - rarely used was replaced with a toggle switch. This work was professionally carried out.
Aside from this departure from original, the magic is in the sound. It makes liquid mid-range, airy highs and percussive bass. It sound will humble many high flying amplifiers.
This amplifier is an absolute winner!
As for shipping cost please wait for the actual cost to be provided after the end of this sale. Any number provided at this time will surely be different. Insurance cost will he added.

The pictures on the completed ebay listing look really nice, but I don't know much about tube amps other than how to up the volume control and the like. So I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a good enough deal that I should drive over to this guy's house and buy it, or if I should stay clear. I'm only an hour away from him.
The completed Ebay listing says it sold to him for $455.00 plus shipping. He's selling it for 400 OBO. I guess he bought like 3 amps to try and cause he is just getting into tubes and now needs to get rid of some of them.
