Yea, saw that just now. This will sound crude, but I don't know how he lasted the last 20 odd years. Shame he couldn't conquer the psychological cacodaemons* that plagued him. Will listen to the first two STP albums (my favorite 2) in tribute today.

*which I'm interpreting in the narrow meaning as "malignant inner forces" through the ancient Greek to Latin in a philological sense and as employed by many thinkers of the ancient and classical world to accentuate humankinds' internal self destructive tendencies, as well as external malicious fate or fortune (or the machinations of divine Logos); the word contrasts with positive internal and external forces known as agathodaemon (daemons, or demons, could be benign or malignant in the ancient/classical world and took on multifarious manifestations and roles).

Yeah, not 'shocking'. Very sad. At one point a few years back I thought he had died already. I was glad to find I was wrong. I liked his voice. He helped pen some great ballads. One I like is 'A Song For Sleeping' from Shangri-La Dee Da. It may be a bit sappy, a sentimental outpouring of fresh emotion after the birth of his son, but it's beautiful. RIP Scott Weiland.

Celebrated Scott and STP with a pair of Polk Monitor 10s I picked up today. ROCKED!
