Seas Tweeter for Dynaco Phase 3 Model 80

Picked up a pair of Dynaco Phase 3 Model 80 this weekend. Three way speakers with a Seas 33 F-WKA woofer (13 inch) Seas 11F-M H130 midrange and generic tweeters.

I would like to get the correct replacement tweeter, original or Seas equivalent.

These Clarion speakers use the same Seas mid and the tweeter is a Seas H107. Maybe the H107 is the correct tweeter? The Clarion crossover is even similar to the Dynaco Phase 3 Model 80.

Nice, a variation of that woofer is used in the Dahlquist DQ-1W subwoofer and the same woofer is used in some B&O speakers and Roger Reference system.
 
Reasonably sure that the Seas H107 was the original tweeter. Madisound recommends the Seas H1211 as the best replacement and I'll go with their recommendation.
 
Wow I never did get those but supposed to get a set of 80’s tomorrow. Now part of me thinks it’s the same seller. And I’d totally forgot about my posts here.

Update, indeed the same seller and I was the same buyer, they had backed out last time due to sentimental reasons.

My level adjustments no longer work, they will shut off the tweeter and midrange completely depending on where you turn it. Looking at the crossover imagine here it seems like they are not potentiometers eater hard switches with resistors inline to the crossover. Could the switch still be dirty or could the resistor be bad or disconnected somehow? Seems like in this case deoxit is not a solution . Also the crossover looks to be just a few capacitors a board to replace fault simple and seems logical to do if I have to go in and fix the level adjusters.
 
So you have the replacement tweeters installed and they work when the tone adjustment switches are in one position but are completely silent in other positions?
 
All speakers are fine but turning the level adjustment will change the level or turn them off, just depends on which positions I stop at. Same behavior for the mid or tweeter.
 
yeah I would say that one or more of the circuit paths created by the different tone switch positions is faulty
could be oxidation in the switch itself or a loose connection to one of those many many sand-cast resistors I see in that photo!

before you take it apart again, make a note of which positions result in one or more of the drivers turning off, maybe that will help narrow down which connections to check?

Sorry for ponting it out after all this time, but that is not correct. The Phase III series predates the H107.

The H107 had a circular profile dome made from vacuum-formed polyamide foil. The Dynaco brochure instead describes a woven and coated polyester fabric dome with a parabolic (i.e. catenary, or "pointy-end-of-an-egg-shaped") profile. Also, in most of the images I've seen of the Phase III speakers, the lead-out wires to the tweeter voice coil are visible on the front. The H107's wires are instead hidden behind the face plate. This all points to a variant of the old H086, also used in the A-25XL and later models, although without the protective grid covering the dome.

Among the modern Seas tweeters, I would suggest the H1825 - 27TAC/GB for replacement. Although it is a metal dome tweeter, it is a better match for both the sensitivity and frequency response of the H086 than most of the other models. It is also ferrofluid-free, like the original.
