Hello. I’m new here.
I’ve had my SL-1500MK2 for 30 years and it’s like a friend. I’ve done some basic maintenance over the years: soldered in a new set of RCA cables for example. But the current issue is beyond me.
When playing at 33rpm the pitch slips high momentarily, in a cyclic manner. I can correct it manually by letting it come up to speed slowly with my finger. I’ve taken it completely apart. Inspected every switch, transistor, wired connection etc. I cleaned it all with contact cleaner and lubed the moving parts of the motor. I don’t see any visible issues. But the nature of the issue seems physical/mechanical by the rhythmic nature of the symptom.
I understand that the controls are digital. What’s the likelihood I’m looking at a bad circuit board here? All the digital displays are working and the buttons send the correct commands: start, stop, 33, 45, pitch up and down.
