Seeking Recommendation! Bluetooth between systems

Hi Audiokarma

I work from home and I have two Marantz systems. One is in the main living space and has my Rega Turbtable and the record collection, the other is in my office and has my CD player and the cassette player. Distance between rooms isn’t far (35 ft).

i am trying to find a solution to transmit the signal from my main living space to my office when a record is on. I have been looking at Bluetooth transmitters/receivers with Apt-X low latency, but all of the off-brand manufacturers is making confusion. I don’t trust cheap Amazon one-off manufacturers and I don’t want to spend more than $100 total for a solution.

Do you have any brand or product recommendations that you’ve used on your home systems? Should I even try Bluetooth or should I go to a strong FM transmitter? I don’t need perfect fidelity, but I feel a decent solution exists in this price point. I won’t run cables.

Thank you in advance!

Kevin

35' is about as far as you'll get Bluetooth to even work in my experience, and flaky too. Hates walls.

Check out the wireless AV 5.8ghz stuff, has a better range, especially with audio. Any hdmi wireless would work too with a bit of adapter.

I looked at those AV trans/receivers ... they don't have very good reviews for maintainingaudio signal without white noise, even at short distances, so i would be just as nervous purchasing those unless you have had success with a certain model.

I use bluetooth at home with the iphone already, and the distance and locations isn't an issue. I just need some guidance on latency success with bluetooth or find a 5.8 ghz system that someone on here has used with success. As it stands I am not concerned about the bluetooth signal making it from room to room, but until this point, i have never used bluetooth through 2 devices at the same time where latency would concern me. 2 parallel systems is a new ball game in latency.

There are a few wi-fi solutions that solve the distance problem but they are less common and blow the $100 budget. Name-brand solutions (Yamaha, Bose, and others) also blow the budget...but the bluetooth connection from my new Yamaha AVR doesn't get lost like the generic transmitter connected to the older AVR did.

Can you cheat to get the transmitter and receiver closer together by placing them on the other side of a wall or placing them in the attic to avoid walls? Something to think about if the bluetooth sort of works. Pretty easy to test by getting the receiver (or transmitter) connecting to your phone/tablet (or headphones/speaker) and walking around to see where the signal starts to crap out.
