I picked up a pair of Leak 3090's a few years back and have not done much with them. They showed promise but it was pretty obvious that the pads and some of the x-over components in the three driver removable head units needed to be replaced. I have messed around with them some since then, but other more pressing projects keep moving these to the back of the list.

Seeing as how the head units are removable, I have been entertaining the idea of using the bass unit (for the time being) for LF in another project. The Leak 3090 bass cabinet is a 110 liter (@4cu-ft) T-line that uses a proprietary woofer of an odd size.
I haven't run a sweep or WT on these woofers but I believe they are fine bit have no idea of their sensitivity/efficiency. I will be using these t-lines with a high sensitivity horn/driver 2-way so I'm thinking about if possible, trying a new driver.
Not knowing much about transmission line designs, I was hoping that a few of you guys with better understanding of how these work might have some suggestions.
A couple things...
1) Like all things speaker, I realize that all t-lines are not created equal. After reading the Leak info I have. The cab was designed around the woofer or visa versa and although thats the way it should be, I'm not sure how "unique" this t-line is. It's relatively easy to determine the tuning of a ported bass reflex box but have no idea how to view a T-line. Does it act as bass reflex with "hornish" porting or is it evaluated as a horn loaded design?
2) What qualities (parameters) should be looked for when selecting a driver for t-line. low Q, high Q ... etc.
3) This might be the tough one. I am looking for woofer suggestion that would be as high sensitivity as possible and drop into the existing opening without modification to the cab. The qualifiers would need to be well suited to T-line, high sensitivity, front mount and drop into an existing 13 1/2" diameter cutout.
What say you?
