Selector switch recommendations

Hey gang,

I'm shopping for a selector switch for my Rod Elliot preamp. Although I can't see that there are a lot of quality brands from which to choose, I do find a dizzying quantity of options and considerations.

I think I'll go with a standard six-way switch because they seem to be most plentiful. However, I can get away with going down to four positions.

Is there any practical difference between a one-pole, two-deck switch and a two-pole, one-deck switch? Also, can I assume that I want a non-shorting switch?

I found this Electroswitch two-pole, one-deck switch on Mouser which seems to fit the bill. Otherwise I may have to track down a Seiden or Elma somewhere. I see there is an Elma on the 'bay that looks reasonably priced. But I'm not looking forward to the shipping costs there. pcX has a nice Elma and a nice Seiden, but they're quite a bit more in price.

Any switch recommendations out there?

Non-shorting switches make a very brief moment of silence as you switch between inputs. Shorting switches don't do this, but they briefly connect your signal source outputs together as you switch. This is generally acceptable. In commercial equipment, input selector switches are often designed to short all unused inputs to ground.
