Can’t always believe the “I’ve always wanted that”, “can’t afford your asking price”.
I was selling an amp for a fair price, and an interested buyer said, I have always wanted this amp and have been looking for one I could afford. They offered me hundreds less than I was asking, and because he always wanted one, I sold it to him for offer.
Next day it was for sale for more than my original asking price.
So to answer the question, when I sell a piece of gear, which is not often, I price it so it will move pretty quickly. I will entertain offers, but ignore the sob stories.
