I am modifying a pair of Carver left and right speakers originally from CS5.2. They were designed with one set of binding post for freq 100hz and below with another set for above 100 ( then this is crossed over internal).
I eliminated the dual post and assembled a Solen 1st order low pass / high pass which would then feed to the 10” woofer ( low pass) and the high pass feeding into the existing internal crossover
my intent was to wire in parallel with the woofer and the existing carver crossover; however, both of these are 4 ohm resulting in 2 ohm load? This would not be good.
looking to confirm this is in fact the case and if so, can I just treat the existing carver crossover like another single driver (even though if feeds a tweeter and 2 mods) wiring this in series with the 10” woofer handling 100 hz and below?
thanks, b
