Seriously weird John Boulton tuner/preamp

links a CL ad for a John Boulton system. Apparently JB did custom home installs of expensive systems long ago. I have never seen a tuner remotely like this and I thought the tuner buffs here might enjoy seeing it. The meter covers the FM band.

Some "hybrid" digital/analog Technics receivers, early 1980s, had an analog meter to indicate FM tuned frequency. I think you'll see at least a few varactor-tuned tuners or receivers with meters akin to that.

That Sonab is freaking sweet! Thanks for those pics, love to see radically different designs like that.

The JB piece is interesting too, but not in a visual way (for me, anyway).

I remember seeing the Bolton system in a few Manhattan shops in the 70's. Specialized in full-house sound. Very impressive!
