I just did a search on this, as I need a few items looked at and a couple of things repaired. I find several old threads, but some of the places listed are now defunct, and others have apparently changed ownership and reputation.

So... Anyone in the Cincinnati area or even Dayton, Columbus, etc, that you would take your gear to? It is old Sansui etc (nothing high value, unfortunately, but nice pieces), so I'm looking for fair pricing and "good" work, but not "IT'S THE BEST EVER!!!" You get the point.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've got old silverface Pioneer, Sansui, and the like. I will talk to Dan. Thanks. Anyone else that you Cincinnatians could recommend?

I'm sure there are but I don't know them personally. Dan is actually on here but I don't know his screen name. He has a Facebook page under Old Sounds New. I think Dan is moving his shop to Versailles sometime next month where he lives.
 
Suggest you check the service pages at Yamaha, pioneer denon etc, then contract their warranty work to local repair shops, same places the local new retailers send them to on warranty.

If anything the old stuff is easier to work on, and the old techs know the gear. If you have the service manuals bring them on CD

guitar amp aka pro audio repair inc tube amps, an amp is an amp, they can fix anything they want, may not have the gear for tuning a radio but your local HAM radio shop does alignments.

They build custom tube amps, custom cabinets, definitely repair speakers and crossovers.......

Hello all. It's been awhile since I've been here. Hopefully I'm in the right place? I was a Pioneer collector and got out for a few years. Looking to get back in, but I need a new tech in the southwestern Ohio area or maybe a 100 mile radius from Dayton. I used to have an awesome guy that worked on my stuff. Phil at AV-Specialist in Centerville. He unfortunately passed while he had my Pioneer SX-1010. RIP Phil! Great guy. Miss him. Anyway, I'm looking for someone who is reputable with 70's Pioneer gear. I'm willing to travel and have quite a few pieces I'd like restored. Thanks in advance.
