Sf Bay Area - Scam alert

I got the I’ll meet you in Nob Hill after 7pm.

Not sure how he will make that happen. Based on another post, he’s phyically in Minnesota...
Today?

And the CL map shows him two blocks from Chinatown........I carry a concealed pistol and I sure as hell would not head there after dark.

Nob Hill and Chinatown are much safer than BayView or the Tenderloin...

I think I got got by this guy too. I paid him (admittedly a suspiciously low price) $300 for a pair of Altec 1005 horns shipped to NY. He was very communicative by email until I paid him. Now he's ghost. Oh well. Was kind of a gamble I guess.

Note about Zelle: He wanted to get paid by Chase Quickpay aka Zelle. I just learned the hard way that there is no fraud protection with Zelle. I chased it as far as I could, which is to send a message to his bank reporting "potential fraud." So I now know that this is a referred payment method for con men. Don't use Zelle unless you are working with a trusted payee. I think PayPal would have protections.

wow sorry to hear that he got you. Thanks for the info on Zelle. He was asking payment by PayPal Friends and Family which has no recourse either. I paid him using Goods and Services and he canceled the transaction.

Is this our buddy Dave?
I didn't read the first page but it smells like Dave in here.

I didn't know about Zelle.

Yup...good old Dave Culver...another one I have flagged is a Kenwood KR-9050 also for $300....
Thanks. Saves me a trip to SF and my excitement/disappointment about my first R2R. Contacted him about a pickup and haven't got a response yet. Fortunately, memory served me well and I vaguely remembered a scam alert thread here long ago so I came here and confirmed with you guys.

He's listing items across the country.
It appears he has been adding some new items to his non existent inventory.
Can demo, and willing to ship, are commonly in his Craigslist listings.
And as mentioned above, even CL says don't buy and have items shipped. CL is designed for in person dealings.
