I bought it yesterday at a yard sale (Happy Record Store Day - April 19!). In plastic - unopened. It's not the '67 version (bummer), but the '78 picture on vinyl version.
I'm going to put it in a frame, next to the Rolling Stone edition of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, where SPLHCB was named as number 1.
What's the point of this thread? I'm just so excited that I have to tell everyone. I keep telling my wife - but she doesn't seem to get it.:banana:

Very cool score. My mother bought me the 1978 version back when it came out. Sadly when I left for college she tossed most of my LPs out along with that one :(
 
i had almost all the beatle albums in pristine condition then in 1969 I joined the navy and somehow all my albums became my sisters....still cant figure that one. of course finding the originals has always been a challenge..oh yeah mine...they looked like the dog had been playing with them...siblings...
 
did you open it? are you gonna do that in front of the wife,take a big snuff of 1967 air then act all high and weird and chase her around the house, then she'll get it:D

For some reason I thought this thread was about the soundtrack album to the silly movie that the Bee Gee's and Peter Frampton did in the 70's. I think I'm the only one that liked that soundtrack.

Don't worry back when I was in high school in 1978 in the Philippines...almost everyone in school had a copy of that album...myself included. I still have mine...and occasionally give the songs "Here Comes The Sun" and "Strawberry Fields Forever" by Sandy Farina a spin....ah to be 14 again.....Wonder whatever happened to her?
 
I framed it today. I sat in front of it and looked at it. Then I rewired both my stereo systems. The frame I bought doesn't do it justice. I just wanted to get it behind glass ASAP so I wouldn't open it or spill something on it. But I'm going to get a better frame for it. Really, the best frame for it would just be a piece of glass with no borders- the album stands on its own. I've been spending so much time, energy and money on vintage audio for two years - this album really is a success for me, like it wasn't all in vain. I look at it and I think, "I own the greatest album of all time."
 
That's a nice disk, and really cool to find a copy unopened. I was never into picture disks but bought a copy of this as a gift for someone--then found out he already had it so kept it. Finally opened it a few years ago and played it once; I figured what was the point of keeping it sealed! Have been meaning to frame it or something though...
