Shangling Cd Players

What's up with all the Chinese tube cd players on ebay? I normally try to avoid Chinese made stuff (virtually impossible but none the less). I see Shangling cd players all over the place and people are bidding on them. Are they really any count? I've got a Carver 490T tube cd player I fear is on its last leg (which pisses me off given I've only had it a few months.) It skips & stutters all over the place, even on a brand new cd.

Although I've never owned one, I heard a couple of different models at the Fest.

They are ok. I listened to one SACD Shanling and not impressed. I believe it's around $3000. However, there are a few on Ebay but much cheaper including Mhz but haven't tried this one yet.

I believe that the Music Hall CD25 and the Onix XCD88 and 90 players are rebadged Shanlings.

I own the XCD88 and it's a nice player. Built like a tank for a small, inexpensive CD player.
