Hi,
Got hands-on with an old Sharp VZ-3500 boom box and found that the turntable plays for few minutes and skips backward and continues. After opening up the cover I notice that the tonearm only plays the track until it can move freely and resets back to its starting position because the tonearm doesn't move along string during the play.
I note there are some LED sensors on the tonearm and wonder if this not sending any signal to the motor to move while a record on the play.
But other than that tonearm moves perfectly for other operations such as REW, FF and HOME.
I'm new to this mechanism so need some help and guidance on what, where to look to rectify and correct the problem.
Any help will be appreciated ..!
