Sherwood S-9910 received!!!

Hi! great forum here! J have just received Sherwood S-9910 with original owner manual:banana: It´s a great vintage peace! Wonderfull reach sound. I like him more than my Pioneer SX-1250, altough Pioneer is much powerfull. I wondering how it´s possible with 2 small ( 15000 µF 65V) power supply capacitors create such powerfull sound.( I know what I´m telling, I tested him at my Yamaha´s)
Does somebody compared Sherwood against Marantz 2325 or 2330?
I´m looking for Marantz too, but I doubt if Marantz 2325 is better choice!

Sherwood has two 15000uF 65v mitsubishi capacitors in power supply. My Pioneer SX-1050 has two 22000µF 80V nippon chemi-con capacitors . Is it possible, that capacitors brand in power supply have some influence on sound quality? Such as more details? (earlier marantz receiver used mitsubishi caps in power supply too!)
 
This reciever has chaned my life! I love that thing more than anything that I own.

You will not be dissapointed with it!!
 
I have two Sherwood's. a S-8600 in my bedroom (from 1966 or 67) it's 80 watts of real power so that is 20 wpc I guess... and a RX 4109 which is a decent modern no frills reciever which is 105 wpc running my AR 4x speakers in the living room.
 
Marantz 2330 vs Sherwood S-9910

I recently recieved my Marantz 2330 back from my tech, totally restored, recapped, etc. When I sent it out it was in very bad shape. For that reason, I had recieved it for free from a neighbour :banana:.

I bought my Sherwood S9910 in London Ontario last year for a good price. It is in good shape, but not perfect (1 switch has been replaced w/o stock piece), etc.

I also have a Sansui 8080DB (late production run in great shape) and a completely restored Pioneer Sx-1010.

I haven't had my Sherwood back in the line up since last November.. But at that point in time the 9910 was my top driver, I even liked its sound better than my restored Sx-1010. The Sansui is hit or miss (more dependent on speaker matching), but it also has a good amp section. The phono section on the Sansui is pretty noisy though. But yes, I also like the Sherwood better than the Sansui.

The Sherwood was just so well balanced.. Great bass control (Damping Factor = 100), breathtaking high frequency sparkle, a top notch tuner and very cool adjustable input phono section. 2 phono, 2 aux inputs... so on and so forth.

It has since been sitting with no play time... In the basement workshop.. I am going to clean it up in order to do a proper comparison with the 2330 now.. maybe in the next few weeks I'll get around to it.

Hi, New to Audiokarma, so this is my first time in the forum, is there any site I could get the owners manual for the Sherwood S9910? I bought one and it's in mint condition (like taken out of the box), I want to know if I can drive 4 0hms speakers, any info about this matter would be greatly appreciated
