sherwood s5000II cover

i recently purchased a s2100 tuner and now am in the process of getting a s5000 II unfortunately it does'nt have a cover(the s5000 II).my question is does anyone know if any of the covers from the tuners would work and which ones?.im hoping i could get a tuner cheap off that popular site and use the case.any help would be appreciated.

nevermind guys i figured it out digging through some magazines and looking at the dimensions.it looks like the case from the s2100 tuner will work so far.now to find out if the s5500 and s2200 will work .
 
I think a lot depends on what series Sherwood's. Specially since some hung the transformer off the back while others did not. This effected the depth of the case.

I have one spare Sherwood case but is for a shorty and wont fit my S5500 II

thats true grumpy.the case you need has to be 12 1/2 deep whereas the one you have is probally 10 1/2 which is good for most the tuners and i beleive the s1000 amp but not for the 5000 5500 series amps.i havnt checked the dimensions of the s3000iv or v yet but i suspect them to use the shorter case also.i do beleive though that besides the s2100 that the s2200 would also use the same case as the 5000 and 5500 based on what ive found out so far.

The case I have is 10 deep and 14 wide from a S3000
 
You may simply want to hit a local sheet metal shop and have 1 bent up. These are simple and I looked for some time as I needed both for my tuner and amp and came up empty. Alternatively, why not sent them to Merrylander and have him do some of his magic in wood. Sherwood did offer wood sleeves but I've only seen a couple and truthfully, they looked great.

thanks for the suggestions.i would'nt have to go to far to get the metal case made up as my brother works at a shop as a welder and could easily get one made up as all the equiptment is there and i could use the case from the s2100 for them to copy.the only probem would be getting some vinyl or leatherette to match the color thats on the s2100 im getting.the idea of a wooden case is also great and is possibly the route im going to go and for that i can get my dad to build it for me as he's a great woodworker(not knocking merrylander i've seen his work :thmbsp: )and i'm sure he could come up with something that'd look great .id have to then get some veneer to match upto the heresy's.either way the s5000 will have a case for it eventually as i cant have it sitting around naked.

Why not I had mine naked for 15+ years. But then you'd need a polisher to keep the copper clad bright and shiny. When it is, it puts chrome to shame. Nothing like the warm glow fom the reflection of them there heaters bouncing off the copper. I had though of angling a mirror over the units so I could sit back and see the soft glow from my seating position. Prettier than them blue or green lights and the direct glow from the heaters.
 
jeez greg that picture looks awfully familar almost like ive seen it somewhere before :D .so were you able to check it out yet?im getting a little anxious here :yes: .no rush though whenever you get the chance that'll be fine.

been a little busier than normal around the house(went vacuum shopping last night, struckout!) tonight I have my medals and boots and uniform to get ready for tomorrows parade... don't worry though, she's still safe and sound. :thmbsp:

some HH Scotts hooked up with the Yammi T-500(the opt80 auction tuna ) ON/OFF, loudness knob could require some more cleaning as the left channel wouldn't play at all, couple more rotations of the pot and I've got the old Sherwood singin on both again... Easy Like Sunday Morning- Lionel Ritchie on FM :thmbsp:

need to check the TT inputs and she should be good to go! :yes:
 
never tried the MON or REC jacks though

thats great news greg. :banana: :banana: .i talked to my brother last night and he told me making a case would be no problem and probally cost no more than $20.i just have to go find some leatherette to cover it with,
 
Hit the auto shops for a place that makes custom seat covers. Bet they have enough scraps laying around for a double set and besides leatherette, maybe genuine leather, lambs wool or hey, what about shag :). Actually I think if I were making a set of metal covers rather than having leatherette I'd go with a powdercoat or simply with a gloss engine enamel or a copper plating to match the chassis.
 
hmmmm, what's this

measures 24"x24"x12" and weighs in @33lbs, something is missing though and needs to be sent seperately. :D
