Sheryl Crow

[RussinOhio]

I love her singing. I saw her on tv the other night and was shocked....stunned to learn that she is in fact 44 years old! I mean does this woman look good for 44 or what? I would guessed her at about 30 at most.

And hasn't she had a bout w/breast cancer as well ?

Yes. http://breastcancer.about.com/b/a/006667.htm
She grew up less than 30 miles from here and comes home a couple of times a year. She's done a lot for her hometown of Kennett, MO including funding for a new public swimming pool and park. She plays at their county fair every year too. Had the pleasure of seeing her play, meeting her and her then boyfriend, Eric Clapton, several years ago.

I saw her on "Larry King". She's much different than I thought she was. She is very nice! I liked the way she handled her cancer scare.

Yep, she's a heartbreaker

Too bad she killed Kevin Gilbert

If the world only knew.

David Baerwald doesn't think very highly of her either. Tuesday night music club anyone?

Take a listen to "Miss Broadway" off of Kevin Gilbert's "Thud".

Hey, whatever. Sheryl's a goddess. If Kevin didn't learn from Michael Hutchence that this was, um, a slightly risky venture well then.....
Come to think of it, both those guys were a little unstable emotionally.
Sheryl's eponymous album still goes on every car trip with me.
Maybe someday she'll need a fellow Missourian guitar player....

PS join the fight to stamp out hangman monkey-spankin'!!
PPS "..if it makes you happy..it can't be that bad...urg!"
Goin' to hell for that one, boyo.

[bully]

yeah, I knew she was 40 somthing. Shel sing nicely enough, but the couple of cds i heard her singing had the feeling shw would be a great backup singer.
She's a little young for me, but I've seen some very nice 50 somthings.

[blownsi]

Yes she is very attractive and a good bass/guitar player. It's just that she is one of those musicians who uses their talent for other things. Anytime she is in front of a mic she either flames the president or protests the war. I hate that. Reguardless of your feelings about war support the troops they are the ones putting their life on the line so you can sing!! I really like her music but I wouldn't pay 2 cents to see her live because of this.

[bully]

of course, a rule of someone's thumb is that 1/2 your age plus 7 is a perfect match. So for 36, and 25 year old would be OK. For a 46 year old, a 30 year would be the ticket. For a 56 year old, something much too young unless you've got some good money.

[Duffinator]

I really like her music and she is a beautiful woman. That hippie/country thing works for me. And she's got to be in really good shape since hanging with Lance Armstrong too! Like someone else said there is always a Sheryl Crow CD loaded in the car for road trips. Although I've never seen her live when I've seen her on TV/DVD her live performances didn't do much for me. Seemed a bit mono tone and not as energetic as I would have expected. But I wouldn't turn down free tickets to see her in concert.

Not much for Kevin Gilbert to learn from Michael, as he (Kevin) passed first.

I don't think anyone can pin what Kev did on Sheryl. However, I don't think you'll find too many people who have worked directly with her in the music business referring to her as a Goddess either.

She got to where she is at the expense of many others, (10 years old news) but fortunately for her, she had the talent to hold her own once she finally arrived.

She does appear to scrub up pretty good for her age, at least in photos.

[donoghue]

I really liked Sheryl's first 2 albums & then lost interest. She was a professional back-up singer Bully, or did you already know that. Anyways I still like to listen to those discs once in a while, she's put out some quality stuff and I hope she lives a very long time.
( :uzi: cancer)

& those banana things have got to go!

Sheryl is a talented musician, and does look great.

Might be interesting to have a thread on which music artists, now entering, in, or past middle age, still look good and which don't.
