Shirley Horn

I don't have any of Shirley Horn's albums in my collection, starting to think that's a pretty major oversight. Just listened to her doing You Don't Know What Love Is on http://mellowradio.nl , definitely my kind of music. I've heard her on internet radio several times over the past couple of months, always gets my attention. :music:

I think I may have confused her with Lena Horne, whose later stuff definitely doesn't do it for me, though I liked her very early, Stormy Weather period.

You Won't Forget Me is my favorite and very good. I have a couple but I'm drawing a blank right now on the others.

Just checked the local library's online catalog, and reserved all four of her CDs in their system, having them sent to the branch right next to my job. Will know next week....

I have eight Shirley Horn discs and I like them all. Probably my favorites are "You're My Thrill", "I Remember Miles" and "You Won't Forget Me". At least as I remember at the moment. She is my favorite female vocalist and I save her music for special times.

Funny you mentioned Lena Horne. I've only recently discovered her. I have one LP from late in her career and one from earlier, and I love them both. They are not dissimilar in how she sings. I'll have to look for Shirley.
