Ok, so I'm seriously confused. (especially after reading this https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1220579). I'm also an A/V noob. I understand that resistance is different than impedance.. and that's about it. I just bought brand new Klipsch RB 61 II's that are rated as an 8ohm speaker. I have not yet used these speakers because I don't have my receiver at the moment, however when I use the multimeter on them it reads around 3.8 ohms resistance.. doesn't this seem like it would be a 4 or 6ohm speaker in that case??? I have seen somebody use a multimeter on a so called 8ohm speaker and the meter read 8ohms. To further my confusion, I had previously had old boston acoustic hd5's (ALSO rated 8ohmes speakers) hooked up to my receiver (sansui 771). These speakers ALSO read about 3.8 ohms on the meter 
. Just as well, running these speakers caused my amp to continuously overheat (I think) causing them to scratch for a moment and then cut out. Are my new klipsch speakers going to do the same thing? but most of all are these actually 8ohm impedance speakers or are both of these speakers falsely rated???
