Should i do this differently?

Collect vintage cassette decks. Some work, some don,t. since I,m not electry inclined, I was just putting the ones that had problems on CL cheap. Then I started thinking would,nt I be better off just parting them out? Don,t whant to rip anybody off, but VU,s and other parts could be worth a bit more? have not tried to sell anything on AK or other sites, but would it a good thing to do?:scratch2::scratch2::scratch2:

In my opinion it depends on whether the item is reasonably fixable and in good shape, even if someone else ends up fixing it. If it's cosmetically trashed, it's a parts set. Otherwise, I tend to keep them whole since they don't make them anymore. Just my take on it.
