I miss Virgin Records. Some of their stores were fun. In Toronto, I miss A&M and Sam the Record Man. Huge loss. I spent entire days at Sam's.
Sorry, had to reminisce.
On Oahu, we have a decent record shop. "Hungry Ear" records. That's coincidental because I bought my Yamaha CA-810 in 1979 from "The Hungry Ear" in New York. This is a fun shop and they have a good selection.
In Chicago since I travel there a lot, I like a store in Chicago (North - Lincoln Park Area) called Dave's Records. I've had good success there and it's a small, but very fun VINYL ONLY Store.
Also in Chicago, near Dave's there is my favorite online shop that has "WAREHOUSE DAYS" once in a while. Fun stuff. This is "Second Hand Tunes" or secondhandtunes.com. They sell via Amazon. You can also schedule an "Appointment" to visit their shop. This is a large and excellent Record Store.
In Seattle I haunt "Sonic Boom" Records a bit, as well as "Every Day Music". Both stores are decent for new and used.
Florida? Hmmm... I have been to "Rock and Roll Records" in Orlando. Not bad. Also visited "Retro Records" for vintage Vinyl. I fly in and out of Orlando so it's convenient for me to visit.
Strangely, I buy most of my music from either Dave's or Secondhandtunes.com. Chicago gets my business even though I don't live there. Odd, but that's the fact, Jack.
I will subscribe to this thread because I travel extensively and want to know what you gents visit in your home town.
