Using a ZOOM mixer I picked up used from eBay. A little less noise than the Saramonic. Both are battery powered.

I set my Sony camera's internal volume to 8 or 9. That seems to eliminate the camera's electronics introducing artifacts. Like hiss or uneven recording
I usually set my phone to 5 or 6 depending on the volume, no wind filter. Oddly enough I learned through a YouTube video that it doesn't support external analogue mics despite the fact it has a headphone jack?

I just realized I have my Brother's Galaxy S8 which has a headphone/mic jack that I can use to record better audio quality. Only thing to note is that the phone is from 2017, so the battery has to be pretty shot by this point. Haven't powered it up in months though, might swell up if completely discharged given Samsung's ignorant quality control with Li-ion batteries.

Obviously there's my Galaxy S9 which I still use for mp3 playback for some of my videos, but the headphone jack on it is screwed up so one channel is clear, and the other channel is quieter and distorted/hard clipping and drops out if pushed hard enough. Bluetooth works perfectly fine with no distortion.

Yeah. I needed to go through a mixer --- for impedance match reasons as well as LT and RT volume controls. Direct connection to my Sony camera sounds very noisy. And the sound isn't even between the various LPs.

My Samsung was okay. But it picked-up a lot of ambient noise. I could not turn off the internal mic. The latest operating system doesn't allow it.
