Shure please make a new V15 before I vomit

It's time for Shure to make a new V15.Im done with the V15 III,V15 IV,V15-MR ect ect....That was 30 years ago.It is time to make a 2010 Shure V15 super deluxe special edition with gold trim and diamonds.And sell it for $600.

I wouldn't wait for that to happen. I think Shure is essentially all played out, as far as marketing Cartridges, even tho there has been a vinyl resurgence. Shure wants to sell big numbers of items, and Cartidges just don't seem to be the ticket for them.

But alas, all is not lost. The logical step forward is Moving Coil Cartridges. Of course there are numerous MM's that surpass the old Shures. Take Clearaudio for example.
Virtually all who upgrade to good MC's usually never have a wish to return back to the ole Shure days. Merry Christmas, Mark
 
Sure did make a new V15 up until around 2 years ago.

I don't think it will ever happen. they Shure seem happy with the M97XE being there top consumer cartridge.
But one can always hope.
 
With the quality control on the 97ex being what it is (I.e. crap), I'm not sure I would spring for a new Shure TOTL. I would be more likely (If the income was up to the 600 dollar cart level) to buy an Ortofon Black or an AT 150. Both companies have better track records for QC and are dedicated to cartridges.

Definitely buy an AT 150 MLX. $320 at your door. Save the rest of the $600 for new vinyl or whatever and listen to it drift into a very sweet sound as time passes. I love my '74 V15 III but geesh, it's old! You wont have to jack up the signal with a stage like a MC to listen to it either. And if you break the stylus you can get a new one in a few days (unlike a MC).
 
Shure only cares about are dj's who want to scratch records. They turned their back on us consumers who just want to play records. As for shure making a new v15, it's not gonna happen.
 
I wish they would make another MR stylus at least. I thought the V15 VxMR was a little bloated in the 200Hz region and not very sparkly (I still own 3 of them), but the lack of tracing distortion on 80's pop records and brass fortissimi was worth it, as there is nothing more distracting to my ear than tracing distortion. The Grado's don't do it for me in this area at all. I just bought a Cartridge Man Music Maker III, which Len Gregory claims has the somethingorotherest line contact of any stylus known, so we'll see.
