Shure Stylus for SC39EJ or M95ED

I've been enjoying my recently acquired (from Goodwill) Hitachi HT-466 turntable. I have two cartridges that I've tried with it - an SC39EJ and M95ED. I've been using the M95 with it, as the stylus on the SC is really bad. Both have unknown hours, so it would probably be best to replace the stylus on whichever one I choose to use.
I've read that the SC will work with a stylus from a M97ED. I see generic replacements for on the auction site from Pfaniehl for $20 that supposedly fit RTX4, M97ED, and the SC39EJ. For the M95, I find generic Parts Express replacement styli for about the same price up to about $45 for an LP Gear replacement.
My thoughts are to replace the stylus on the SC39ED with a good one, since I think it should be better than the M95. This would assume that what I've read is correct in that a N97ED will work properly with it. If a Shure replacement was available, this wouldn't be as difficult, I'd likely just buy that. Since I seem to be stuck with non-Shure replacements, I'm confused as to what to buy. Any suggestions on this would be appreciated.

For the M95,I would only consider a JICO stylus,ordered directly from Japan.Their N95E is about the best you will ever get,without resorting to silly money.

I have used this cartridge for a long time,and I really think that it is one of the best moving magnet types ever made,regardless of manufacturer. Certainly,you can plug just about any appropriate pin from any manufacturer into this cartridge,but I consider the JICO N95E the only acceptable lower-priced offering. Anything less would be like installing walmart tires on an Aston Martin

I ended up ordering a Pfanstiehl 4771-DE (N97E) from eBay. I'm not sure of the quality of this stylus, but it certainly sounds better than the one that was in my SC39EJ of unknown history. I'll be curious to see how I like it after a few hours of play. After break-in, I'll compare it more to the M95ED I generally use. For $20, it didn't seem like too much of a risk!
