Wanting to know where I can source parts for these units....

The CA3000 needs a VU meter

The BA3000 needs a power transformer and outputs

Anyone know if these can be purchased new or if I have to find donors?? Also, if its a case of find-a-donor, did any other models use the same parts??

All advices welcome.

Parts are long gone, but there are fine substitutes for things like transistors.

What's the matter with the meter on the CA-3000? And what makes you think the transformer is bad on the BA-3000? Sansui got their start in electronics by building transformers, and it's a bloody rare occasion to see one have an issue. I'd say it's more likely the 3.3 ohm soft-start power resistor is smoked and leading you (or your tech) to believe the primary is open.
 
This is gear that I am looking at buying and the diagnosis is being provided by a local vendor, well basically he is a flipper .... never works on anything but in this case is making it seem as though he had someone else look at them.

I have one set of these units and I would grab a second as long as I knew that I could get parts ....

But long and short is that I don't really know what the problems are yet ....
 
Well, the price should be right. I'd take a chance on 'em. In fact, if you don't want 'em, would you pm me the name and phone number of the seller?
