Signal Strength Meter Stuck

Hi all...I have a PROJECTone Mark IIIB receiver with the problem as stated in post title. What are some common causes? There is no movement when tuning, and it's stuck at half scale. I want to put it on my bench after I finish an antique tube radio, and want to know what to check. I don't have a schematic for it.

Two things come to mind from my past experience. First, if you can get some light penetration lube injected at the meter pivot point that will sometimes unstick a frozen meter. It may take a day or so for the lube to work it’s magic. The last stuck tuning meter I repaired was actually stuck because the paper backing on the meter had actually bowed outward enough over time to interfere with needle motion. I carefully re-glued the paper to the back of the meter thus allowing the needle to move freely.
