Hi all, hoping someone has more info on the Signet stylus line for the larger SU cartridge. The reason I ask is because I purchased the SU with a number 9 stylus on it and an extra 18 stylus in it's original case. The 9 had lots of noise and sounded a bit worn but the 18 sounds excellent, like new. Wondering if it's one of the micro shibata? I've seen the list here on AK of the TK line but the 18 is not listed. Any thoughts?

WaynerN I'm open to suggestions on a better alignment tool. I used the MoFi geodisc. It's the JVC QL-50 with Grace 747 tonearm. Got any info on the stylus?

That may just be the perspective of the photo. It looked very skewed at first glance to me as well, but with further observation, the shadows and gaps and other indicators may just be playing visual tricks.

Wualta, thanks for the image! The shibata IMHO sounds better than a Denon DL-304 (purchased from the same owner as the Signet). I don't believe the the stylus was ever used.

No. It's a Grace 747.

I think I mentioned earlier that I'm using the MoFi GEODISC.

Then its a Baerwald (Lofgren A). I see its on a straight tonearm. Now I understand. I'm sure you did a good job aligning, just looked too aggressive an angle for an "S" shaped arm. My bad.

Shibata sylus are really picky with SRA. I run my arm totally parallel to the record surface (with stylus engaged). I have the AT440MLa with the ATN150Sa shibata in three of my tables....love it!

Yes, they are. I think it's dialed in as good as it is going to get.
