Silly panlocks question:

legal eagle

Sound Hound
Scored me another C-28 preamp, 200$ PERFECT face, looks brand new, clean, can't believe it's over 30 years old, really. It came with a full operating and service manual...and panlocks.

No wood.

Qusetion is: what are the panlocks for? If they came with the preamp, does it mean there used to be wood?

They came with the unit so it could be installed in factory or custom cabinetry. There also was a packet of hardware (screws, a bracket with speed nuts to receive the screws that fit behind a wood panel, and springs for mounting the unit facing upward), instructions and a template. The hardware packet and template weren't needed if you used a factory cabinet, since those came with metal brackets already inside with the proper threaded holes ready to attach the two Panloc brackets..

If you got the clear plastic mounting template for cutting and drilling a custom panel to fit, DON'T LOSE IT! They're hard to find.

Congratulations on your find, by the way!
