It may look half decent but note the following:
  1. Tape deck lacks Dolby NR (Soundesign probably didn't want to pay for the license)
  2. Tape deck has 1/8" instead of 1/4" mike inputs - indicative of low quality back then for home decks
  3. Both components have pressboard rear panels, just like all Soundesign equipment.
  4. The tuning needle looks like very cheap plastic.
IOW, don't sell your silver Pioneers for these

Yeah I did notice the pressboard rear panel. Missed the 1/8 mic inputs. If I ran a museum I'd offer him $40 or $50.
I still wouldn't be embarrassed to have it set up in my spare room or garage for the novelty factor.

Damn it, click bait, I was excited about seeing SoundDesign separates since I never have. :(

For some of us, Soundesign was a CHEAP alternative since the big name equipment was just not affordable. With a young family just starting out, with basically no money, Soundesign was a way to get "The Look" of nice gear at a really low price. Mine worked flawlessly for years. Paired with a Pioneer PL12D TT and some really huge, highly efficient speakers, the sound was not that bad.
