Picked up a 7 foot tall server rack, and had a friend cut it down to 3 feet. Found 2 rackmount shelves at the recyclers along with 2 Pioneer units. Put everything together this afternoon. The system (top to bottom):

Xiang Sheng 728A Preamplifier
Phase Linear Model 5100 Tuner
Music Hall cd25.2 CD Player
Pioneer RG-2 Audio Processor
Pioneer SG-9800 Equalizer
BRB Systems Model 200 Amplifier

Will be hooking up a Pioneer PL-630 to continue the silver theme.

Speakers are Rectilinear Highboys

Thanks guys.
I set up the turntable today with a Pro-ject phono preamp (the Xiang doesn't have one). Had the highboys recapped a few years ago.....the system sounds good, and well, there's plenty there to tweak it. :)

Well, decided to swap out the tubed preamp with solid state. I was used to leaving everything powered up 24\7, and couldn't really do that with tubes. Picked up a Toshiba SY-665 when I dropped of an SAE amp for repairs. It's a nice fit looks wise, and actually has MC\MM capabilities.

I have that same rack in black. Never thought of cutting it down. Good idea. Is it tippy, or have you bolted it down or counter-balanced it?

I put the amp on the bottom, and the base is pretty heavy too. So, no, not tippy/top heavy. :)
