Silvertone EL84 amplifier, can I remove the reverb section?

Working on a 1960’s Silvertone single ended amp that came out of a record console.
Want to use it as a stand alone amp; I thought I could simply remove the 12ax7 circuit used for the reverb, which I did, but now only one channel is working. Do I need that extra 12ax7?

The reverb control pot is the path for the cathode ground for one channel. Did you re-complete the ground circuit when you removed those reverb parts?

Thanks, I only noticed one ground wire coming off the reverb pot which went directly to the chassis...

if you leave the pot and pull V1 it should still work normally. The pot or a 1k fixed resistor needs to sit between pin 8 of V2 and ground though.

Yes, now I see it...
I did remove the pot, so I will put in the 1k resistor and hopefully that will help!

Just curious, why not leave it original and just not use the reverb?

You might want to play around with the reverb someday. Nowadays it is like an oddity or curiosity or whatever that word is I am looking for.

Ya, if you removed the pot you'll need a 1K resistor to go back in there to recomplete it.

Okay, thanks to you and gadget, I added the 1k resistor, and all is good!
The reverb option was unique, but just didn’t need it right now.
You guys are the best, it was an easy solution to something I was trying to figure out for hours!
