Sincro recording when having machines made by different manufacturers.

Telecolor 3007

I love old stuff
Let's say you have a "Tehnics" recorder and a "Philips" C.D. player. Both having been fitted by the manufacturer with sincro recording output. Can you make an adapater so you can use sincro recording.
But can a non-sincro cassette deck can be fitted with a sincro?

Greetings from RojoLand!

Not sure what you mean by synchro (not "sincro") recording. Are you referring to what's known as "sel-sync" or "simul-sync" on some reel-to-reel machines, where you listen to a track already recorded while recording another track along with it (and that's done by playing the already-recorded track on the deck's *record* head while also recording the other track). I'm not aware of any cassette decks set up for that (I could be wrong!).

The "sincro [sic] recording output" thing, I don't understand at all. The CD player just outputs (unless you are talking about a CD *recorder*, and I know of no such machine that could, or needs to, do simul-sync), so the notion of a CD player having a synchro output makes no sense.

If you have some literature that describes what you are asking about, I'd love to see it. What model of Technics (not "Tehnics") recorder? I might want to chase down its manuals.

Sorry, English ins't my native language and I do make mistakes.
Well, at some C.D. players or cassette decks, when you pushed play the (other) cassette deck started automatically to record, you didn't need to push buttons for recording to start.

OKeh, that makes sense. It's just an automated dubbing setup, not at all like simul-sync (which is typically used by a musician or recordist to lay down individual parts of a song). Sounds like you're referring to the way some dual-drive cassette decks work, where starting the record drive will also start the source, playback-only drive. I've not heard of a CD player that could command a tape machine to begin recording.

And although I *am* a native English speaker (American English), I too make mistakes. We all do. Please pardon me if I came across too harsh. Correction was intended to be helpful. :)

I think he's reffering to something like the following (Revox Emotion B21 cassette deck and B22 CD player):

Online translation (it's spot on, as far as I can tell):

"Recording a CD program – Important note: The following functions are active only when used with the Revox Emotion system. When recording from a CD player, the player can be programmed according to its operating instructions or simply played. Then press the REC [8] and PAUSE [7] buttons on the tape deck. Both the cassette deck and the CD player switch to pause mode (indicated by a flashing symbol between the minute and second displays). You can now cue up a specific track in the CD program or in normal playback mode. Pressing the PAUSE [7] button again starts both the recording and the CD player."

I don't know if syncro-start is only possible when the two are connected to/through the B25 amplifier, or if it also works if they are connected only to each other.

This feature works with CD player of the same make (and sometimes same model family) only. No ability to use different make (and sometimes same make/different model family).
