Single Advent Legacy

mswer

Needs some space to think
I came across a single Advent Legacy and the local GW the other day. If it'd been a pair, I'd have bought them on the spot, but I have nothing to do with one. The cab is a bit rough (though not awful), but the drivers look to be in good shape. If anyone is looking for Legacy drivers, east side GW in Providence or drop me a PM and we can try to work something out if you're looking for said parts. :D

Nice offer of you.

I don't need it, but someone might.

I also got two tweets for offer for the same model.

Now all one needs is one cab, one crossover, and one woofer.

Use for:

1) no-nonsense center channel for an HT system - Based on my own experiments here at home those tiny ones that are so prevalent, i.e. dual 5.25 inch "woofers" + a tweeter, IMO cannot actually reproduce all of what's in the center signal, part of the reason so many HT systems sound so thin and wimpy.

2) subwoofer - Pair it with a decently powerful receiver (fed with an A/V receiver's sub output) and you'll be surprised at what such a mutt of a system can do! I'm doing this right now with a Realistic Nova-8 and a Pioneer SX-6. And just like a real subwoofer, make sure to position this "sub" properly or it won't sound right.

I have a set of KLH 510 Loudspeakers that I use as "subs". The tweeters have warped coils and the midrange cones are shredded but the woofers work great, so I disconnected the midranges and tweeters and have a lot of bass to work with now. I have them connected to the A channel on my receiver with the B channel running my main speakers. So yeah, using that speaker as a sub would probably work nicely.
