I just found a pair of " skull candy" over the ear head phones @ a thrift store. When I checked them out one side didn't work so the price went fron $5.00 to $2.00 . Stoped @ a dollar strore and got a 1.00 set of phones because I was hoping it just a bad cord.Sure enough the cord was bad and so I got out the soldering iron and ended up with a great sounding set of head phones $3.28 I only use the for my mp3 player but now it sounds pretty damn good for the price.

My kid has a pair of the Skull Candy headphones where one channel went out. I think it was the plug in this case. Tried soldering a new one on but they use that very fine silkish wire in them that is harder than hell to solder properly.

Did you replace the cord all the way back to the speakers?

My kid has a pair of the Skull Candy headphones where one channel went out. I think it was the plug in this case. Tried soldering a new one on but they use that very fine silkish wire in them that is harder than hell to solder properly.

Did you replace the cord all the way back to the speakers?

Yes I went to the dollar store and just cut the tiny earphones off The only thing different is instead of one wire comming from one phone I drilled a hole just big enough for the wire pulled it through and tied a knot.As for the type of wire if you mine wasn't like that I hav seen that before but for a buck each i just wuild have gone and got a different pair

Well, thats a decent set of headphones. I have got some senheisers at goodwill, the left driver sound was sounding bad, and i replaced it after. Im happy now.

if you have a heat setting on you soldreing tool turn down as far as you can turns out the pos. wire is is marked but the coating is VERY! heat sesative it will melt back and cause a short that will make you batty trying to find.

I was checking out phones on ebay the other day, saw some sort of weird green phones called Skull Candy Skull Crushers. Gotta say that does not sound like something for comfortable easy listening at all.....

you can not argue with some SC's for 3 dollars, I really think talking new vs. new Skull Candy is way better performance per dollar than Monster's or Bose's line.
