SL-1200 Hinge Dust Cover trouble

Hi,

Im try to install hinges of a technics mk2 sl-1200 , and i cant make it work. The trobule i have when i want use my sl1200 i open the dust cover and with the weight of dust, can leave open. They goes to close again , is like not maintain open.

Any tip?

Yep i see this link, but the trouble is like the weight of dust, can make it opened, still goes to close.

While it is rare unless they are really old, the spring in one of the hinges could be bad or even broken. To stay up both hinge springs need to be in place and working. New hinges (just the part that screws to the dust cover) are not too expensive.
