SL 1200 problems... HELP!!

After moving my Technics SL-1200 MKII, I noticed an issue with its sound.

Problem:

One channel is missing.

When tapping on the pivot/bearing point on the tone arm, I lose the working channel, but the missing channel never appears.

I have swapped headshells and cartridges with the same issue.

I am thinking tonearm wires???

i will start by making sure the solder joints are in good shape. hopefully I dont have to pull the wires out of the arm!

i would clean the contacts on the headshell and tonearm socket with a pencil eraser first. When you say you moved it, how far are you talking about, cross country, or across the room.

I moved across town twice in a month. And the second was kind of a hostile take-over situation where I had to move quickly.... So I may have damaged it.

And I'll try the cleaning first for sure!
