SL-1200 Tone Arm Rewire

I would like to re-wire my stock SL-1200 tone arm with Cardas wire.I am pretty good at soldering.To replace the stock wires,do I need to completely take the tone arm apart out of the bearings?I was wondering if I could just take the front connector off of the arm and pull the new wires through without complete disassembly.Thanks,

When I did mine I removed the arm assembly completely. You might be able to do it without taking it all apart but I think that'd make the whole process a lot tougher and more time consuming.
 
You will have to remove the tone arm assembly, but it comes off without disturbing the bearings. You will have to remove the bottom of the table to get to the 2 screws holding the tone arm.
 
I always thought you would do it like replacing house wire. Attach the new stuff to the old stuff and when you pull the old stuff out (after desoldering of course), the new stuff gets pulled into place.

Thanks for the links.I see that the tone arm can be dis-assembled without removing the base of the tone arm from the bearings.That makes it much easier.The tip about having the anti-skating set to zero is key.It seems only two screws need to be removed to lift the tone arm off of the table.I need to call KAB and order the needed wire and other parts.Based on reviews that I have read here,I'm looking forward to listening to it!
